SMO 254 Round Bar is an austenitic stainless steel with a high molybdenum content. Coupled with Nickel and Copper this gives the alloy a good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, especially in environments containing halide ions, e.g. chloride, bromide and fluoride solutions. Our SMO 254 Round Bars is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel developed for use in seawater and other aggressive chloride-bearing media.

• Silicon (Si) = 0.80 Max

• Manganese (Mn) = 1.00 Max

• Phosphorous (P) = 0.030 Max

• Sulphur (S) = 0.010 Max

• Chromium (Cr) = 19.50 to 20.50

• Nickel (Ni) = 17.50 to 18.50

• Molybdenum (Mo) = 6.00 to 6.50

• Nitrogen (N) = 0.18 to 0.22

• Copper (Cu) = 0.50 to 1.00

• Iron (Fe) = Remainder
